What is Secrecy ?
Secrecy is a secure, end-to-end encrypted cloud-like and mail-like service, with authentication included.
The Secrecy SDK enables you to develop applications for storing, sending and sharing data securely and privately. The encryption is based on a unique, patented algorithm developed by Secrecy.
Unlike most alternatives, all files and messages you send leave your device already encrypted, and only you or your intended recipient can read your message or the file you sent.
Why Secrecy ?
We can't read your data
Most providers encrypt data on their servers — which means they hold the keys, and can be compelled to hand your data over. Secrecy is zero-knowledge: the provider holds only scrambled data and none of the keys, so it literally cannot read your content.
A breach becomes a non-event
A server breach, a rogue insider or a court order exposes only ciphertext — the scrambled, unreadable form of your data. Never your customers’ content.
Your private key never leaves your device
Keys are generated and stay on the endpoints. The SDK moves ciphertext only, and the client returned by login() encrypts and decrypts around every call.
A different compliance story
Your story shifts from “we protect the data” to “we can’t see it” — including mail, file contents and anonymous submissions.
Typical provider vs. Secrecy
Same feature, very different liability.
| Typical cloud / mail | Secrecy | |
|---|---|---|
| Where data is encrypted | On the provider's servers | On the device, before upload |
| Who holds the keys | The provider | Only you and your recipients |
| A server breach exposes | Readable customer data | Only ciphertext |
| Response to a third party | Hand over the data | Nothing readable to hand over |
| Your breach liability | Yours to carry | Structurally removed |
What you can build
One Secrecy client, multiple capabilities. Anonymous and Link also ship as standalone functions, so even senders with no account get the same encryption guarantees.
Get an authenticated client
Users sign in through Secrecy SSO; you get a ready, key-loaded client back.
CloudEncrypt, store and share
Data is encrypted and stored in the cloud, and only you and the target user can decrypt it with their private key.
MailConfidential by construction
Draft, send and track read-state on content that's ciphertext to everyone but the recipients.
AnonymousEncrypt to a public key, no account
Visitors encrypt to your public key in their own browser; only your logged-in client can decrypt.
LinkShare encrypted files via bearer link
An end-to-end encrypted link plus a password you set — no recipient key, no account, revocable at any time.
